Once upon a time there was a beautiful village where all the people lived in happiness. No, we’re not about to tell you a fairytale, but if that was the case, Óbidos would surely be the perfect scenario for it.

It will take one hour to get you there by car, but the wait will be rewarded. The small town, surrounded by a castle and its circular walls, preserves the spirit of many centuries ago. The residents take great pride in it, so every house will be carefully painted in white. The streets are paved with stone and almost no cars are allowed inside.

It is, of course, a touristic place, so expect to see buses full of people. But there is room for everyone. Please try the local spirit - licor de Óbidos - or the chocolate delicacies. You certainly will not feel a hurry to return to the XXI century.
