Being the oldest Fado house in Lisbon, it is an essential place to visit in Lisbon. Opened since 1955, in the iconic Bairro Alto, A Severa combines amazing Portuguese cuisine with national soul: the Fado.

Called ‘A Severa’ in honor of the story of a gipsy Fado singer with the same name, in this space some of the most famous Fado singers of Portugal have performed.

The decoration, with typical Portuguese painted tiles, depicting Lisbon landscapes, along with the laid-back décor, crate the perfect mood to enjoy typical dishes, such as ‘pastéis de bacalhau’ (codfish fried cakes), ‘caldo verde’ (shred cabbage soup with chorizo) or pork ‘à alentejana’ (with clams).

In a comfortable environment, feel like you’re part of the family than created and still own the ‘A Severa’ for decades.
