Usually the Cantinho do Avillez is packed by Portuguese and tourists alike. The service is versatile and carefully planned, with all the waiters all wearing an easy smile. The decor is elegant with a retro look.

Opened five years ago By chef José Avillez, the place maintains its faithful clientele, but is still very sought after, although it is sometimes hard to book a reservation.

From the appetizers to desserts, the ingredients of Portuguese cuisine reign in the ‘Cantinho’, but each dish intertwines tradition with new combinations of flavors.

We recommend the orange-seasoned olives, the codfish served in layers and the scallops with sweet potatoes.

For desert, the ‘avelã’ (hazelnut), deconstructs the nut in three different textures.
