Across the Tagus River, accessible by ferry (Cais do Sodré) and by train (Across the 25th of April Bridge), toy can visit two important spots on south margin: Cacilhas and Almada.

In the busy city of Almada, particularly in the outskirts, right next to the 25th of April Bridge, there is an iconic statue of Jesus with its arms stretched: the Cristo Rei.

Rising 113 meters above the river, the 28-meter statue of Jesus sits atop a 75-meter gate. Inside there is a sanctuary and it is possible to climb to the top of the gate, to the base of the statue, getting and amazing view of Almada, the Tagus River and Lisbon.
